Here, the spring 2023 class of handbags and shoes our editors are coveting for spring.
Bottega Veneta Andiamo bag
My accessory choices act like wardrobe foundations, complementing and accentuating my personal style. The Bottega Veneta Andiamo bag, made from signature Intrecciato-woven leather with knotted gold hardware, has a minimal pared-back feel which makes a timeless addition to my accessories arsenal.– Laura Ingham, deputy director global fashion network

Tod’s Bubble Ballerinas
Back in my mid-noughties indie era in high school, I treasured a pair of gold Topshop ballet flats that I lost numerous times mid-gig at various grubby music venues and found to delirious glee amongst plastic beer cups in the pit post-encore. These Tod’s ballet pumps, with a perfectly chubby toe and in sumptuous mustard yellow satin, feel like a gloriously mid-30s update on a’00s classic. I’ll be wearing them with everything from baggy denim to retro trackies, midi skirts to tailored trousers, but they’ll kept many miles away from any mosh pits.– Laura Hawkins, fashion features editor,BritishVogue

Gucci Horsebit 1955
This Gucci bag is the ideal no-muss-no-fuss type of accessory I’m all about. Smart, elegant, and simple—it’s as easily clutchable as it is to throw over a shoulder for those that need both hands definitely an investment piece that epitomizes form and function.– Megha Kapoor, head of editorial content,Vogue India

The Row Park tote
I’ve learned to really cherish a roomy and slouchy shoulder bag as of late, and The Row’s Park tote is no exception. While being large in size, it’s still especially soft. Allowing you to wear and carry it many ways, you can fold it and carry it under your arm like the runway models or under your shoulder in classic commuter fashion. While it is considered a tote bag, it surely doesn’t wear like one. Forget those stiff structured styles; let this curvier tote bend and fold to your every need. Even if I don’t have much to fill it with—I often travel light, wallet, keys, sunglasses, lip balm—its pale shade of green brushed suede is a very desirable color I’d like to add to my spring wardrobe. – Madeline Fass, market editor,Vogue US

Alaïa Le Coeur
As handbags go, I didn’t really like the idea of something as cutesy sounding as a heart-shaped bag, until, of course, I met the Alaïa Coeur in black. It’s unbelievably elegant. I’m not used to wearing a hand-free bag (you’re much more likely to find me with a tuck-and-go number), but I’m a convert. The gold chain is the perfect length, tucking neatly for instant access into the chamber of the heart, which is way roomier than it looks - phone, wallet, keys, lip balm—it’s all I need, and it’s now become my everyday companion. –Naomi Smart, commerce director, British Vogue

If there is one thing that will give any outfit an instant pick-up, that’s silver shoes. These Bottega Veneta mules are an absolute show-stopper, I love how their shiny texture balances out basic outfits like a white T-shirt and tailored skirt. I actually use them much more than one would suspect; they are perfect for dressing up everyday looks and for pairing with suits and dresses in the evening.– Viola Bisiach, managing editor & special projects lead,Vogue Italia

A bit like leather, I really think denim is a fabric that only gets better with age. That’s why I’m really a big proponent of denim accessories. I’m never too precious when it comes to handbags, and it’s nice to have something that looks better the more you wear it. – Chioma Nnadi, Global Network Lead & Editor,Vogue US

Khaite Olivia bag
Anytime I see a raffia bag, I am automatically reminded of Jane Birkin—and Khaite’s mini raffia hobo was no exception! It’s not yet warm enough in New York, but I could imagine pairing perfectly with a mini-dress. Given the current weather, I decided to instead pair it with one of my most cherished vintage finds: this Yves Saint Laurent twill jacket, which I thought also evoked Birkin’s iconic French look. For weekend activities, my base ensemble is often my The Row gala pants, a white T-shirt, and a boot. Like this classic outfit formula, Khaite’s bag is super versatile and effortlessly takes a look from day to night!– Mai Morsch, market editor,Vogue US

Valentino Locò bag
Transitioning into Spring dressing is always an awkward time! The weather can be so unpredictable and you never know if you should dress for the chilly mornings or the warm afternoons. For this look, I opted for the latter! I love to dress for the warmer weather and peel back the layers. Although my look is more subdued in color (than usual), I paired it with a bright and bold bag from Valentino to add some fun to the look. – Naomi Elizee, market editor,Vogue US

Totême T-Lock clutch
My latest discovery is this black leather tote bag from Toteme. The Swedish label is my go-to brand for modern minimalism. This spring drop is just the perfect allrounder, which you can easily dress smart or casual. For a casual Sunday afternoon look, I styled it with my favorite patchwork jeans from Victoria Beckham, boots, a top from Sandro (for some French Chic appeal), and a long coat from Arket. On the other hand, the sleek essential works also perfectly with dresses or worn as a clutch for an evening event.– Miriam Nehring, senior editor,Vogue Germany

Saint Laurent Blade pumps
It’s hard for me to resist a dreamy high heel, especially Saint Laurent’s elegant Blade pumps. This pair particularly spoke to my soul thanks to the dramatically beautiful ankle-hugging straps, the smooth suede finish, and the hypnotizing silver cap toe. This spring, I plan on easing into shorter hemlines by wearing the heels with sheer stockings. Loewe’s padded Goya is a hug in handbag form. While its pillowy proportions are strikingly modern, the supple Nappa leather fabrication, crossbody donut chain, and gold logo hardware evoke a timeless appeal. Better still: its two interior compartments fit more than meets the eye, deeming it the perfect everyday companion. There are a variety of enticing colorways on offer—plumrose, red, and dark chocolate, to name a few—but for me, the versatile “Clay Green” style is made for spring.– Alice Cary, digital fashion writer,British Vogue

Ferragamo Wanda bag
Historically, my accessory choices have been quite pared-back, with most of my shoes, boots, and bag choices rendered in either black or brown—they’d essentially act as a neutral backdrop for more statement-making pieces. However, when I saw Maxmilian Davis’s first collection for Ferragamo, I knew that the fiery red hue that dominated the designs would be a winning addition to my accessory capsule. While I would happily own any of the brand’s new-look handbags, it was the Wanda mini bag in sunset shades of orange and red that caught my attention. The pop of color is the perfect accompaniment to the neutral separates that line my wardrobe: think beige trench coats and cream blazers. Dior 30 Montaigne Avenue bag
I’m incredibly guilty of wearing all black, so I love that this 30 Montaigne Avenue bag is a contrast with its lovely chalky hue. To style it, I’m a Dior girl at heart, so I’ve sported the bag with a vintage, New Look-esque skirt, which is actually from the 1950s. The perfect modern touch? This bag has an outside pocket that fits my iPhone perfectly. What more could you ask for in a bag?– Lilah Ramzi, parties and commerce Editor,Vogue US

When it comes to getting dressed, I follow one rule: match up pieces that have entirely different personalities. A souvenir tee with a three-piece suit, crystal-studded loafers with track pants—you get the gist. The London designer Simone Rocha gets it just right, and her accessories are a case in point. Finding an elegant carryall can pose quite the task: settling for one that fits your laptop but also works slung over your shoulder at after-work events without being a souvenir tote isn’t as easy as it sounds. Givenchy’s new Voyou bag ticks all the boxes. For anyone who’s afraid of white leather, fret not; it comes in a conveyor belt of other colors, too. A clear case in point for Matthew M. Williams’s hand for creating cult accessories. I’m sold. – Eniola Dare, associate fashion editor,British Vogue
