LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A major winter storm hit south Michigan -- some areas received more than.

In East Lansing, on-street parking will be prohibited to aid in more effective plowing operations. In Jackson, residents are instructed to remove parked vehicles from the street and refrain from parking along street curbs.

Clinton County
- St. Johns officials are urging residents to move vehicles off city streets and out of city parking lots.
- East Lansing has declared a snow emergency from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Friday.
Eaton County
- A snow emergency has been declared for Lansing from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 11 p.m. Friday.
- Delta Township officials said roadways much be kept free of parked cars.
- Residents of Olivet is asking resident to not park on city streets from 2 to 6 a.m.
- Eaton County government operations will close at 12 p.m. Wednesday and resume normal operating hours on Thursday
Hillsdale County
- The City of Hillsdale has a snow emergency anytime there are more than four inches of snow. Hillsdale is expected to get 5-9 inches of snow Wednesday.
Ingham County
- East Lansing has declared a snow emergency from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Friday.
- A snow emergency has been declared for Lansing from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 11 p.m. Friday.
- Mason is urging residents to remove vehicles parked on the street overnight.
- Williamston declared a snow emergency from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Friday. Residents are asked to be aware of the City’s snow and ice removal ordinance for sidewalks.
- Ingham County Probate Court will close at 12 p.m. Wednesday
- Ingham County 30th Circuit Court will close at 12 p.m. Wednesday. Any hearings scheduled to occur will be rescheduled.
Jackson County
- A snow emergency has been declared for the city of Jackson from midnight Wednesday to Saturday at noon.
Livingston County
- Howell has a snow emergency from 4 a.m. Wednesday until 4 p.m. Friday.
- Village of Fowlerville and the City of Brighton have both declared snow emergencies starting midnight Wednesday that ends at 5 p.m. Friday.
- Village of Pinckney has declared a snow emergency starting 4 p.m. Wednesday, running through Friday at noon.
- Livingston County government operations will be closed Thursday.
Shiawassee County
- Owosso has issued a snow emergency that runs to 5 p.m. Friday.
- Durand is asking residents to remove their vehicles from the street, even if they have a parking permit.
